The Blue Bonnet opened its doors in the 1930s and was one of the first restaurants in Denver to obtain a liquor license after Prohibition — back when the Broadway streetcars ended right at our corner. Founded as an American café by the Bolte family, whose Texas roots gave it the name, the restaurant passed to Arlene and Philip Mobell in 1968, who introduced its now-famous Mexican cuisine. Today it's run by brother-and-sister duo Gary Mobell and Marci Rosenberg.
As one of Denver's oldest family-owned restaurants, we're proud to count second-generation employees among our wait, bar, and kitchen staff. Together with the Mobell family, we offer an innovative seasonal menu built on local ingredients, one of the largest gluten-free menus in the city, an award-winning margarita list, and an extensive cocktail selection alongside our traditional Mexican favorites.
Choose from our available buffets, served and refilled until everyone is done. Kids under 10 eat half price. Some modifications can be made for something in particular.
Grilled steak and chicken with peppers, onions and tomatoes, served with flour tortillas, Spanish rice and beans, salad, chips, salsa, guacamole and green chili.

Build your own street tacos — chili lime chicken, carnitas or roasted vegetables — with a choice of cheese enchiladas or tamales, plus all the fixings.
Every taco bar includes our Garnish Bar at no extra cost: lettuce, sour cream, cheese, homemade hot sauces, three dressings, cabbage, cilantro, jalapeños, lime, pico de gallo and pineapple pico de gallo.
